Helpful guidance for feed design, especially relevant to tight audience limited content environments such as social intranets, educational feeds, and niche content that can read more ‘like a book’. For giant, broad firehose feeds like Twitter or YouTube, there’s a volume and temporality issue that requires more algorithmic logic to handle. In all environments, it’s our duty to reduce the burden on the user and improve throughput of the most important, relevant, and context-rich thoughts.
